We’ve designed Go Wild so that it’s accessible to everyone. The idea is that people work together and, therefore, the team only moves as fast as its slowest team member. That said, there is some trekking involved so we’d recommend that you have a reasonable level of fitness.
No, you do not need any specialist equipment. Although there will be a need for sturdy shoes and relevant clothing. We will be sending a kit list over to you and if you are not a mountain climber then it might entail a little cost.
You don’t have to do any training beforehand but, if you want to get fit try hill walking with a weighted backpack or walking on an incline on the treadmill. Both are excellent training exercises.
Yes, we have a few fundraising ideas. You can set up an online fundraising page to ask family and friends to support you.
The activities are challenging, but we have extremely experienced mountain leaders and technical experts who are brilliant at their job and amazing at getting the best out of our customers. Every activity in every location is thoroughly risk assessed and each has passed the required safety standards.
Yes, there can be some medical issues but not many. It’s important for our team to know of any issues or allergies in advance so that we can work around them.
These are very common fears so you won’t be alone. Our challenges do involve heights, water and enclosed spaces, but our staff are very used to dealing with nervous people and will work with you to combat any fears. If you really don’t want to go through with any particular activity, you don’t have to.
Yes. So long as you give it your best go, then we can’t ask any more of you.
Yes. Once you’ve booked your place we’ll send you an email with all the details you’ll need.
Yes. These will all be sent to you in your Event Instructions.
If it is a one day event then you will need to bring a packed lunch with you as food will not be provided. If it’s an overnight stay event you will also need to bring a packed lunch but on the night of the event you will be making dinner as part of a challenge and breakfast for the next morning will be provided.
Most of our one day events include the same activities which are abseiling, scrambling, waterfall jumping and zip wiring. There are some specific differences based on location and event length, and you’ll learn all about this when you’ve signed up. We also hold Xtreme events where you will do the same activities but they will be more intense and challenging.
No, tents will be provided.
There will always be toilet facilities near your camp site.
All participants must be 18 or over on the date of the challenge.
Every month, the delivery team invite all of our upcoming participants onto a webinar (if you’ve never been on one before, don’t worry it’s like a video conference call thingy – you just press a button and can watch and talk!). On these, you’ll get to meet some of the instructors, learn about your upcoming event and ask any questions – no holds barred! People find them real handy to cover off all those questions they have.
If you’re a company or a charity and you’d like to know how we could help you or have any other questions, you can give us a call on 0161 922 8666 or 0044 161 922 8666 if outside the UK, or complete the easy form.
But if you’re just raring to go and want to book yourself onto one of our great events – and can see the event which you want – then go for it, and get booked!
If heights are your thing then The Descent locations are for you. The abseils here range from forward facing waterfall descents to 150ft quarry walls. They’re not for the faint-hearted; when you’re at the top looking down, it will take all the bravery you can muster to get you over that ledge. Up for it?
You need a head for heights and water to be able to tackle the activities here. You’ll be standing right on the edge of a 25-30ft waterfall, with only white water beneath you. Can you take the leap and go with the flow to the other side?
There are some serious hills to climb in these locations. Feel your quads burning as you ascend the rough terrain to summit some awesome UK mountains. You’ll be rock climbing with and without a rope, so you need to watch your footing. You’ll cover around 10k on the 1 day experience, and around 20k on the 2 day experience. Can your legs handle it?
Heard of canyoning? No? It’s where you throw yourself into a rushing canyon and go downstream with the flow of the water. In The Rush locations, you might also take on the ultimate waterslide. Sit at the side of a waterfall and rush to the bottom as fast as your weight will take you. How fast will you go?
Fancy flying through the trees from cliff to cliff or tree to tree? With nothing but a huge drop and leafy scenery below, you’ll be harnessed to a wire that allows you to zip through the air at speed, hundreds of feet above the ground. Will you dare to look down?
Fancy yourself as a bit of an explorer? You may need your torch if you can’t handle the dark in the waterfilled tunnel. Keep your head down and keep moving. If the tunnel isn’t enough for you, there’s a storm drain to crawl through, it’s a very tight space so I hope you can handle it. Are you brave enough?
The activities vary from experience to experience; this activity key will help you to find the one that’s right for you. Click on the activities to read a bit more about what they entail. Each experience will feature some of these activties. Once you’ve found the ones that excite you, you can check the experience location that will allow you to face them.
